PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: ServoCam CNC Control System
AMT saw an opportunity to dramatically increase the productivity of existing machine tools, and
formed a company to meet the need: AMT Machine Systems, Ltd..
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: Pyrographics Kiln Monitoring System

| Client: |
The Edward Orton Jr. Ceramic Foundation. |
| Challenge: |
When firing ceramics in large, industrial tunnel kilns, temperature
profiles must be controlled accurately. If not, whole batches of
ceramics must be scrapped, costing tens of thousands of dollars per
batch.
|
| Solution: |
AMT developed the Pyrographics Kiln Monitoring System. Pyrographics
includes real-time monitoring that provides direct measurement of
temperatures in kiln during firing. This allows the kiln operator
maximum flexibility in making adjustments to burners, air flow or other
kiln operations. Pyrographics uses a patented magnetic coupling method
that avoids the interference and licensing issues of RF transmission,
used in other real-time monitoring systems. As a result, kiln
temperatures are controlled accurately, resulting in higher quality,
reduced scrap, and lower cost.
